About Finance
The Directorate ensures effective financial transactions relating to revenue and expenditure management and reporting of the Ministry and its projects accounts.
The functions of the Directorate are:

Prompt processing of payment vouchers and the issue of cheques to Agencies, Contractors and Suppliers for service provided.

Response to Financial Audit observation made by auditors during the year.

Preparation of weekly and monthly returns to the Controller and Accountant General’s Department and the Ministry of Finance.

Assisting in the preparation of the Annual Budget Estimates.

Preparation of Quarterly Financial Management Reports and Annual Financial Reports

Offering financial advice to Management

The Finance Directorate is made up of three sections, namely:

Financial analysis and Monitoring
Accounts Unit

Prepares payment vouchers and releases of cash for the Ministry’s programmes and activities;

Monitors expenditure to ensure that it is within budgetary allocation.

Prepares projects/programmes accounts for coordinators and programmes managers and for auditing

Prepares financial statements.

Treasury Unit

Applies for release of funds and Processes warrants of requests approved

Financial Analysis and Monitoring
- The unit is responsible for collating financial reports from the sector agencies and analyse them. They also monitor financial flows and utilization by the sector.
