A-G SWEARS - IN NANA ATTOBRAH QUAICOE AS MEMBER OF GOVERNING BOARD OF THE SPECIAL PROSECUTOR

The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Honourable Gloria Afua Akuffo has on 8th January, 2020 sworn in Nana Attobrah Quaicoe of the Bureau of National Investigations as a Member of the Governing Board of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

In a brief remark, Honourable Gloria Akuffo congratulated Nana Attobrah for assuming that office and indicated that the establishment of the Office of the Special Prosecutor is an innovation of the government to help deal with corruption and corruption related cases. She stated that, notwithstanding the perception of some section of the public, the establishment of the Office of the Special Prosecutor is a good one.

She acknowledged the enormity of the work of the OSP and encouraged the staff to continue to work hard.

Miss Akuffo, entreated the new Board member to bring his experience to bear on the work of the Board.

Nana Attobrah on his part thanked the President of the Republic of Ghana for the opportunity given him to serve. He promised his commitment to work hard to ensure the office achieves its goals.

Some dignitaries at the ceremony were the Chief Director Alhaji Suleiman Ahmed, the Solicitor – General, Madam Cynthia Lamptey, Chairperson of the Governing Board of the Office of the Special Prosecutor, some Heads of Departments at the Ministry among others.
