Attorney and General and Minister for Justice, Ghana

The Attorney and General and Minister for Justice, Ms. Gloria Akuffo, has noted that government is not going to renege on establishing the Office of the Special Prosecutors.

She said this when the Human Rights Program Manager of OSIWA, Afia Asare Kyei paid a courtesy call on her at the ministry on 4th March, 2014.

The Human Right Program Manager of OSIWA said OSIWA promotes open societies where democracies, good governance and the rule of law, basic freedoms and widespread civic participation prevail. OSIWA is presently based in Senegal.

Further into the discussions the Human Rights Program Manager expressed that OSIWA was interested in government’s initiative in establishing the Office of the Special Prosecutor and could be of assistance in establishing the office.

The AG welcomed the assistance and suggested the Legal and Justice Sector reform as another area where OSIWA could provide assistance.
